There are three voltage variations in this converter series for use with 200 V, 400 V, and 690 V networks. Accompanying the SINAMICS VFD G120 is a thorough machine safety package. The safety functions are commissioned using SINAMICS Startdrive.
The purpose of the SINAMICS G120 frequency converter is to precisely and economically manage the speed and torque of three-phase motors.
It is appropriate for a wide range of drive solutions with different device versions (frame sizes FSA to FSG) in a power range from 0.37 kW to 250 kW.
Design that is easy to operate
The modular converter system SINAMICS G120 is made up of two main function units:
Unit of Control (CU)
Module of Power (PM)
The Control Unit uses a variety of selectable closed-loop control types to monitor and control the Power Module and the linked motor. It facilitates communication between monitoring equipment and a local or central controller.
The motor receives power from the Power Module between 0.37 and 250 kW. It has pulse-width-modulated motor voltage and variable pulse frequency, showcasing cutting-edge IGBT technology. The Power Module and the motor are highly protected by comprehensive protective mechanisms.

Integrated Safety
For applications pertaining to safety, there are many variants of the SINAMICS G120 standard converters available. For Safety Integrated, the PM240‑2 and PM250 Power Modules are already designed. A Safety Integrated drive can be made by combining a drive with a Control Unit that has safety features (see overview). Depending on the type of Control Unit, different Safety Integrated features may not be available.
